Erica Li

Born in Hong Kong, Erica Li began her career in 1988 when she teamed up with Cantopop duo Paradox as a singer-songwriter. In 1993, she became heavily involved in the Hong Kong film, radio and music industries, and has worked as the host of various radio shows as well as a writer. She joined Warner Music Hong Kong as Creative Director in 1995. Her lyrics for “Peace Hotel” won “Best Original Theme Song” at the 15th Hong Kong Film Awards. Over the course of her career she has collaborated with many Hong Kong directors such as Herman Yau, Stephen Chow, Vincent Kok, Pang Ho-cheung, and Teddy Robin. She has written over 700 lyrics, 50 books, and 12 screenplays, including screenplays for Stephen Chow’s King of Comedy (1999), Pang Ho-cheung’s Men Suddenly in Black (2003), and three films for Herman Yau including Ip Man: the Legend is Born (2010), The Woman Knight of Mirror Lake (2011), and Ip Man: the Final Fight (2013).
