ASIAN FILMS ARE GO!!! 2003 (2nd New York Asian Film Festival)

May 15-26, 2003 at Anthology Film Archives

New York’s best contemporary Asian film festival brings 21 of the latest and greatest from Korea, Hong Kong, Japan, India, Thailand and Taiwan to the Anthology Film Archives for 12 days of unrelenting entertainment. Whereas most film festivals show sleepy arthouse snoozers that couldn’t get a theatrical release if their lives depended on it, ASIAN FILMS ARE GO!!! brings the blockbusters, the newsmakers, the trend-setters, and the scandalous releases from thousands of miles away, right to New York, just to entertain you.

ASIAN FILMS ARE GO!!! will also honor Leslie Cheung with a memorial double feature. Hong Kong’s greatest actor and one of its biggest pop stars committed suicide on April 1, 2003 at the age of 46. Come remember this great actor with two of his best movies, screening one time only on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26.

We'll also be selling snacks! Asian snacks! Shrimp chips! Cheese Longers! Chocolate Pocky Sticks! Salad Pretz! Kasuagi Fruit Gummies! If you've never put any of them in your mouth before, now's the time to start! Coke, Diet Coke, Water, Iced Tea, and Iced Coffee will also be available.

And remember: why pay $10 for a movie that sucks, when you could pay $8 for a movie that rocks?

That’s right! All movies are only $8!
Is your head exploding yet?

No?

Then how about this: every senior citizen who comes to TOO YOUNG TO DIE with a date will get in free!

Is your head still intact? Still on the end of your neck? Then read our line-up and see if your fragile skull can retain your enormous, pulsating brain by the time you reach the end!
